HPS is changing hands.
We have been producers since 2005 and felt the company needed some new direction and new energy.
We posted a notice to the local arts community to gauge whether there was any interest in taking over the infrastructure (incorporation and charitable tax status). We received a solid statement of interest from Laurel Paluck, a very talented local performance artist currently employed by Public Energy and also with her own company.
Laurel says she is honoured to have been given this opportunity and looks forward to contributing her vision to the further development of HPS as its new producer.
The focus of productions will be changing under Laurel's leadership, but will remain at a very high caliber. Heritage Pavilion Stage's corporate objectives are broad enough that the work Laurel proposes to do fits in with those objectives, namely working with young audiences, teaching, and festivals.
New board members joined the board as of the meeting on March 11. An AGM will be called for later this spring. Laurel plans to email out a newsletter to members with more information prior to the AGM.
We would like to thank all the actors, directors, artistic producers and other performance artists and resource people we have worked with over the years, our dedicated board members, and the organizations that supported us.
